After a trip of 32 hours from Edmundston to Montreal to Toronto to Santiago de Chile to Buenos Aires to Santa Fe (Argentina), I arrived on December 30 at the house of my boyfriend's family. Here, we are in summer with over 30°C and we see a different sky than the one in the northern hemisphere. The smell of the air only is sufficient to make me feel on vacation. We eat very well and we eat ice cream every day :-) People is very nice and patient with my elementary Spanish. The pets are affectionate as well.

More pics to come!

Goodbye Edinburgh

It is my last night in Edinbra! Next destination; Lyon/Villefranche-sur-Saône/Le Creusot for the next two weeks to visit friend Nelly and boyfriend Carlos, then home-sweet-home St-Jacques at mom and dad's for Christmas! One word to summarize Edinburgh; "atmospherical".

New status

I'm officially not a student anymore! What am I supposed to put now beside the Occupation field? Recent-graduation-in-transition-phase? I guess there is no way of avoiding the Unemployed term. And no more student advantages (i.e. discounts) :-( On the bright (and much larger than the other) side, I'm on REAL vacation after 19 years of non-stop kindergarden/school/high-school/unis! Must enjoy while it lasts.

Halloween-ish picture

Are those my neighbour's kills from a hunting session or just leftover Halloween decorations?? Anyway, I didn't have to take a coffee to wake me up when I saw those from my kitchen window this morning while preparing cereals.

The longest party ever..?

At 11pm last night it was on, and from what I could hear from my flat, it had probably started earlier than that with some warm-up drinking. It faded out a little pass midnight. My guess is that some more drinking took place at a club somewhere, because then I woke up at 5:30am with some more karaoke-ish sounds. And again at 8:30am. Its now 9:10 and it is NOT over yet. To be continued...bets anyone?

What's up??

"Oller" (as we would say back home), I haven't wrote in a long time! Perhaps it's because I am a bit overwhelmed by the amount of stuff (i.e. travel stories & pictures) that I should put up here. Anyhow, as a brief summary of what has been going on lately, here are some pics with description!

First stop was Germany's Berlin and Groß-Gerau (near Frankfurt) to celebrate the end of my master's in great company with my boyfriend's family.

Holocaust Memorial, Berlin
"In May 2005, on the 60th anniversary of the fall of the Nazi regime and the end of World War II, the city of Berlin dedicated their Holocaust Memorial, designed to commemorate the murder of six million Jews at the hands of Hitler and his forces." Read more.

A part of the Berlin Wall

One of the four (if I remember correctly) cathedrals of Berlin with the contrasting Fernsehturm (TV Tower), which has become the subject of many German-ish jokes. "The East German state made no secret of its atheistic views and the sun's reflection upon the tower often takes on the form of a cross. The Berliner's wasted no time in dubbing this phenomenon "the Pope's revenge"." Read more here and here.

Checkpoint Charlie or the 21st century representation of what used to be the crossing point between East and West Berlin at the time of the wall. Read more here and here.

Old traditional German house (I just love the style!)

Funky apartment building in Germany, notice the variety of windows!

Huge bunny Molly! So soft :-)

To come, the next series of stops: Normandie, South-West Ireland and London with me mum and dad to re-celebrate the end of my studies (at least for now) and their 39th wedding anniversary ;-)
